For the record, #17 shouldn't even require any of these "sines, logs, n!" as you put it. You should be able to solve that with a pencil and graph paper.

Anyone willing to take a stab at the high school math exam, Russian style?

Again, maybe 17 and 18 are genuinely tough problems even if you have the required knowledge to solve them. I don't know. However, considering how absurdly easy 1,2,5,6, and 12 were, I'm not too expectant that 17 and 18 would be that difficult, given the knowledge on how to solve such problems."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

And the ENTIRE point of my illustration was to take something incredibly simple and demonstrate that if you don't possess some pretty straight-forward and hardly arcane knowledge, that you would not know how to do it. You're underestimating the knowledge of math required to do this stuff. It's high school knowledge but I don't know it. Haven't seen it since 10th grade or something.
Is it asking for the values of k for which 5(30k+11) = the factorial of k+1 - the factorial of k ? That can't be right though. Just eye-balling it, that wouldn't make sense. What does n mean?Last edited by Al B. Sure!; June 21, 2011, 04:41."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

Otherwise: what the hell is wrong with you? How did you get a degree in finance, an allegedly quantitative subject?

For tasks 13-18 you have to provide the entire solution:

That's a much more achievable goal than getting into the USMC.
