Okay, now I"m jealous of those who have a dishwasher.
Actually, it would be interesting to see what is more expensive/environmentally detrimental out of:
A) Washing dishes etc manually
B) Using a dishwasher
C) Eating everything using disposable and biodegradable plates and cutlery
I'm willing to bet that the results would be surprising...
A) and B) you have to take into account the impact of making traditional plates and their lifetimes and disposal too.
Out of all of them, the food you've eaten on them is probably the most planet raping.

If serious, I find this view disturbingly misanthropic and anti-humanist. Should we just kill all the people on earth to stop the 'rape' of the planet?
This shouldn't happen at all unless your throw entire meals into it (seriously). Buy a new dishwasher, use the fridge for storing your food
I bought this dishwasher last march so it's practically brand new. It has a food trap/strainer at the bottom of the dishwasher (where the water drains out) with a very fine mesh strainer so it catches even fine food particles. This is supposed to help prevent the drain line from getting build up in it but the down side is you occasionally have to pull out the strainer to clean it out in the sink.
So, what you're saying is that we should all be using disposable and biodegradable plates and cutlery.
Nah, we should be using edible plates and cutlery
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Yeah, but what about the environment?!? It's not exactly a shining example of friendliness either! Just recently them sprouts declared a war on humanity.
There are two annoying things about them, though:
1) taking all the dishes out of the machine, specially if you have accumulated like a week of dirty dishes.
2) cockroaches. For some reason this little beasts tend to love kitchen appliances like microwaves, toasters and dishwasher. Dishwasher is heaven for them, with all the accumulated dirty stuff in there. When we did have a **** infestation we have to stop using the machine at all.

I don't know what you are doing, but I have never had cockroaches in my house...although perhaps that is related to the climate I live in...

I've also never had cockroaches in any of my single family dwellings.
