  • The article should have said Drake backtracks on China's highspeed rail.

The rest of the post is your usual mess of factual inaccuracies, logical fallacies, and gross overestimation of Chinese economic progress, but I'm too tired/love you too much to bother correcting you.

      • So same old, same old out of Drake? I confess to being disappointed but I shouldn't be.

        • Can somebody honestly summarize the "issues" of this rambling argument?

What would I do without you?

Honestly? No. I'm not even sure which rambling argument you're asking about...

My initial point in the high-speed rail argument (I don't care about the latest iteration of the Fox News argument) was that it's relatively rare to find a cluster of urban centers suited for profitable high-speed rail (ie. high-speed rail is generally a stupid waste of money) and that China's planned high-speed rail system is likely far too ambitious to be cost effective. I almost certainly was too glib in laying out that argument, however, and didn't really try to get things back on track once the rambling began.

Pretty much this. Drake didn't really know what he was talking about and is now taking a fast course on the subject and moderating his views and his opinion of his behavior along with it.

                  • I fail to see how my views have moderated. I would comment on your views, but you haven't offered them.

                        • Yes, Drake. People need only to look at the articles you posted to see a consistent argument. <---sarcasm.
