  • Got an tnterview with AT&T tommorow.

What would be good questions for me to ask at the interview?

Why does your network suck? How will you fix it?

        Why are you so evil?

An entry-level position in customer service. I'll be receiving inbound calls, dealing with customers regarding their bills, and with customers who are interested in signing up for some of our services/products. They also have a union - not sure if I will become a member, or not. Need to do more research on the union.

Ask about LONG term career growth potential. That way you don't look like the second you get another opportunity that you'll bail, but you're interested in growth in the long term.

Only ask about breaks and time off if you're talking to an HR rep. Don't ask that to line supervisors or managers.

I think it's obvious not to ask about breaks or time off - even more obvious, to not ask about pay or benefits.

If you're talking to an HR rep, they expect you to ask about those things. Esp. benefits.

Here are questions I have written down for tomorrow:

What is the company culture like? How does this call center reinforce the company culture?

How open is communication between the highest position of call center and the entry-level positions?

How has this call center used The Innovation Pipeline (TIP)?

How is community involvement in Quad Cities encouraged at this call center?

What are some of the services/products I will become knowledgeable in?

What opportunities will I have with AT&T for long-term growth?

Oh, and anyway, their job ad told upfront what the minimum would be to start out with: $10.50 an hour. The maximum a person could start out with, is something like $14.00 an hour.

Should you really be asking questions like this that will be beyond your paygrade?

I'm actually asking. Not making a judgment.
