    Promotion... 50 hours at $28000/yr

The 28K is misleading though. I still have to clock in and only get my full check if I work 50 hours. I think with time and a half OT, it comes to an hourly rate of $9.70 which is less than $10/hr, obviously.

I'd rather be a teller. That's an easy, no stress job. It's cushy cause I get to sit on my ass. Day hours. And a part-time teller getting ~25 hrs/week would be perfect to let me have all the time in the world to workout and continue writing and perform... nights free would let me do open mics and stuff.

On a per week basis, I pay $71 in rent and ~$50 in food.

I could actually live on part-time minimum wage. I don't need big money.

I haven't worked a day in my life since I was 15. That's because I like what I do, and consider it a hobby.

Buddy, get a proper career rather than earn that bollocks. And no, making another futile stab at the marines doesn't count. Cut your losses...getting out of the sciences (a career I wanted to do all of my life, despite the frustrations it brought me) was the greatest thing I ever did.

I can't organize the real important thing around this schedule... and I don't want to work 50+ hours a week at a fast food job. what the **** am i accomplishing?

Now the other assistant manager is on vacation for the next two weeks so if I quit now, I'll be screwing them. And they ****ing keep making me feel guilty cause I know they ****ing hooked me up and they keep talking about plans to make me a general manager down the line and move up. **** this ****. This is not what I want to do.

What is my best course of action?
            Whine whine whine whine whine...

So your schedule changes every day. Boohoo. Dude, I'm apparently a rich snob who doesn't work hard but when I worked as a cashier I often got a 3PM-11PM shift one day and a 6AM-2PM shift the very next day and I never complained. So you have to do some rough shifts once in a while, you will survive. Listen, Marines are expected to throw themselves in front of enemy fire and not complain about it, and I can guarantee you they don't ****ing care if you get a good night's sleep in between your shifts. If you can't handle working 50 hours a week at fast food, no wonder you can't hack the Marine Corps.

When I was in HS, I worked 12am-9am shifts, then 2pm-11pm on the same day quite often. This was in a bakery.

What planet are you all from?

I have no ****ing problem doing 90+ hr weeks. I've done that before with two jobs at once.

The problem I ****ing have is doing them for a job I ****ing hate where all I'm doing is contributing to America's obesity problem. As an aside, it is also limiting the time I have to train and limiting my time to develop my music.

How the **** hard is this to understand?

So Al's problem is he doesn't have a serf mentality.

Well quit. Better still - find a proper job. I am sure a man of your self-proclaimed talents should have no difficulty.

Well it is not about what we want but what about what you want. A decent career. You can't go on living in the ghetto all your life then wondering why you are skint and don't have a proper job. I don't understand why you want to join the military...that's for people with no other options in their life. I wouldn't be anyone's cannon fodder.

You have a quasi-real university degree. You could do better.

Well I already explained the complications with quitting. Any ideas on how to get around those without feeling guilty?
