I wouldn't get too excited. If it's popular, Sci Fi will cancel it too soon.

The casting on the Dresden Files was terrible, but the show was fun anyway.
I dunno. I kinda liked Paul Blackthorne in that role. Or were you talking about the actress that played Lt. Karin Murphy? She played it well enough but I never really bought her as a Chicago cop. Was still pissed when Sci Fi cancelled it though. Never really understood that decision. I thought it had good ratings given the network it was on.

The problem with Dresden Files was that they delayed production for quite awhile and Blackthorne got both impatient and more expensive. Plus, he had other gigs.
I loved the production design of the TV show, though it was problematic for people (like Ming) who had read the books, who had to adjust expectations on the form of the ghost, the physical look of multiple characters, etc. But given the limitation of a weekly cable show, I though they made a lot of smart decisions that carried forward the spirit (heh) of the books in an entertaining fashion.
I still go back and re-watch them from time to time...
As a network, I swear that the name change actually signified the end of their focus on science fiction. They haven't done anything interesting since.

Yeah, Bob was the biggest issue. But the show was entertaining even if it didn't meet my expectations after reading every book.

Oddly enough, it was the TV show that got me into the books.

That was a great line and glad to see it embellished here.
