Considering that a Stark may actually come out on top in the end, nothing too badly .

Lots of people were speculating that Benjen Stark, Jon Snow, or Stannis Baratheon would wind up turning into the Night's King for various reasons.

Well regardless of if it had in those instances or not, we are well past when those events could have happened.

I couldn't remember whether or not the Night's King had been mentioned on the show or not.

Yeah, until this point the Night King was only mentioned in Nan's ghost stories and in Ygret's talk to Jon about the lore of the free folk (both already covered in the TV show so no spoiler needed).

So for the people who thought the random speculators were clutching at silly straws, can we count it as non-spoiler .

The fact that he isn't one of the random people speculators on the interwebs thought he was.

What's new about the Night King? That he exists or that he turns kids into mini Others? We've had the stories told by Nan to Bran... and prophecies have a way of turning out to come true in the narrative structure of the books.

The Night King part is what's new. Everyone already knew what happened to Craster's kids.

Technically it only spoilers the books if there was going to be some reveal that the Night King turns Craster's babies into baby Others (albeit that was a reasonable speculation of what happens to them).

Night's King stuff is actually the show spoiling the books for once.

This stuff didn't appear in the books, it is new to us too.

I honestly don't see why this should matter, even if it is the Night's King.

Honestly, that synopsis was probably written by an intern or something, something that easily could have been confused or transposed from something else.
