Fox News North can't launch because regulation against lying in the news won't be repealed

Average Americans are more ignorant than most other developed countries. Not just about other countries, but about their own politics and politicians. There's an alarming apathy and ignorance.
There is, to my knowledge, no good data stating this unambiguously. Most or all of the widely-cited studies are fundamentally flawed by not accounting for certainty of belief, or other flaws (evolution polls in particular are typically flawed in posing).
Moreover, it's not clear how widespread ignorance is really the same thing as "partisanship, venom, and lies".
Compare political discourse and broadcast news in Canada and the USA. Which is more informative and unbiased? It's really no contest.
On what basis do you claim this is the result of the (never-used) regulation? I don't see how you would have any usable data.

Censorship, in general, is not good. But some form of censorship is useful for the good of society. America agrees with this as well, your law has many examples of limitations to freedom of speech.
It is not unreasonable that broadcast news, an authoritative organization, should not spread known falsehoods. Your argument that "what's false to some people may not be false to others" or whatever is a load of bull****.
