You don't see the difference between terms of employment and free speech? How stupid are you capable of being?
You don't see a difference between terms of a broadcast license and free speech?

Teachers are subject to the terms of their employment, broadcasters are subjected to the terms of their broadcast license. The difference is what, exactly?

As I said, private citizens can tell all the lies they want. It's not illegal to tell lies as truths in Canada, it's just against the terms of a news channel's broadcast license to tell lies as truths.

Hurray for false advertising! I'm going to start telling people I'm both a doctor and a ninja.

That's criminal fraud, you ******. Free speech is merely making statements. My god you're a moron.

Hey, it's your country going down the ****ter...not mine.

Keep all of your guns and permit the mass brainwashing of your citizenry. It's all the more amusing to me.

No, you're clearly demonstrating you are the moron here. Again.

Why is it fraud? If it's false in its facts, disprove them. But let people hear both sides! Goddamnit!

There is a significant difference between an honest mistake and a deliberate lie. Even if the effect is the same. The intent, and the disregard for truth, makes the difference between a mistake and a lie.

Asher, selling something under false pretenses is an action. Actions are generally not considered speech (exceptions being things like flag burning which are clearly political in nature). Why the hell do you need this explained to you?

Withholding broadcasting licenses to journalists you disagree with is a clear case of the chilling effect and is an obvious violation of free speech. Teachers spending their working hours spouting their political beliefs instead of doing their jobs is not free speech, it is skiving work and that isn't protected by free speech. Jesus christ.

EDIT: And now you're into the whole fire in a crowded theater thing, something EXPLICITLY not considered free speech by the supreme court. How far down the hole do you intend to go?

A recurring theme with Americans seems to be the nonsensical adherence to an idealogy to an extreme degree, even when it clearly makes no sense. You ask Americans to logically defend it, and they'll just point to a guy who died centuries ago and pretend like that's relevant.
