  • I'm sure HC simply made a typo or doesn't know what he's talking about. There's no need to be blinded by your hatred of the rich, you filthy commie.

    • HC isn't rich. I bet even Alby has more money.

Oh and this way you can have more fun by shooting more than one shot! Yay!

Most .22s could not kill a deer unless by a stroke of good (or bad?) luck.

He specifies they are easy to silence. He's talking about hunting a large animal with a pop gun.

I have to say I am not surprised someone from an Eastern urban area is not educated about hunting, but someone has fed him a large heap of BS.

Good point. HC is a worthless leech living off of the donations of others.

Sure they can. They can bleed out from a .22 wound.

                Virginia State Game Laws:

When aphids appear, it's tempting to treat them chemically, but sometimes letting nature take its own course is a better option.

Rifles used for deer or bear must be .23 caliber or larger.
HC should report his friends to the VA Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. Hunting deer with a .22 caliber is illegal in Virginia.

Regardless, whether it kills the deer or not, using a .22 round is what you want to do when you just want the deer to suffer from a gunshot wound. You have no business hunting deer with a .22.

And, in fact, as I pointed out, it is illegal in the state of Virginia.

                        • .22 cal will kill a deer if you hit it right. We had some deer in the orchard one time. We were hunting rabbits so only had teh .22, but are allowed by law (at least back then) to shoot deer (but not eat them, the fish and game comes to pick them up to sell at auction) if they are inside the fence. My dad told me to shoot at them, probably thinking there's no chance in hell I'd hit one as it was maybe 200 yards and uphill. SNIPER! The one I shot made it about 6 feet and collapsed. Presumably from being owned by my leet skillz.

I don't like to hunt, even though it's necessary to keep the deer population under control. This was when I was 12 or so and still thought it was fun to shoot at stuff though.

Note: This was in Utah, so it's probably legal to shoot any type of wildlife you want with any type of weapon so long as you are in possession of a Book of Mormon at the time and can quote the word of wisdom about eating meat if questioned.

                          • Normally we'd use the .357 for deer. It wasn't a .357 really, I'm not sure what it was but it was close to that caliber. There was the .357 mag, but it wouldn't have been very useful against deer since that is a handgun and my dad only kept bird shot rounds for it. Don't ask me what you're supposed to do with a .357 mag with bird shot rounds... but it's probably awesome.

We also had a .410 "snake charmer" which is like a massive pistol/shotgun hybrid. Great for shooting snakes, as the name would imply, but also useful against rotten watermelons!

My friends don't usually hunt deer with the .22's. Usually, just small birds on the ground or squirrels. I only have one friend who's used a .22 against a deer and it was because he ran out of crossbow bolts. If you hit them in the head you can take them down in one shot.

Also it was already illegal because he discharged a firearm on his property which is only 5 acres. So whatever.
