Not even mentioning the technical aspects of the military or how the military demands quick learning in training, even being an infantryman requires fast processing of information in the chaos of combat and the military operates in spheres which are more complicated than a simple 'kill those guys over there'. Ever heard of the concept of a "Strategic Corporal"?

Fast processing and that stuff can be programmed in. That's why they do drills in the military so that soldiers don't have to think they can just act.

I am convincing a 19 years old skin head who is an orphan (he went bat**** crazy when he became an orphan) of joining the army, that way he will get money, food, a place to live, and interacting with the other soldiers (who tend to be more native-american influenced in their looks) may cure him of his racism by giving him a more "brothers in arms" outlook

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the U.S. military doesn't knowingly take "bat**** crazy" people. There may be some who are, just as there are auto mechanics, programmers, artists and in any other field.

Not only that but a history of mental illness of any sort doesn't bar you from working as an auto mechanic, programmer, or whatever else, but it sure bars you from the service.

Because the military doesn't allow those with demonstrated psychological disorders to serve, you can expect fewer bat**** crazy people in the military than in any other job.

The bat**** crazy people in the military only got that way AFTER they joined (or were never diagnosed).
