For crying out loud, DaShi, just shut up. I wasn't the one who dragged the stupid movie into this thread in the first place, if you recall. You haven't changed my opinion, you haven't said anything interesting, and if you like to jerk off your ego thinking you're better than me, what's that to me?

True, there are likely no jobs but if you just sold your 1968 Chevy Chevelle and used the proceeds to buy a Hyundai and the house in Lubbock then you could get a job as a truck driver and live payment free. Well, free other then the $200 per year in property taxes and, of course, the cost of driving 200 miles each way to the nearest quickie mart which passes for a super market.

If it is so damn lucrative then why don't more people do it? Why is Philly, Baltimore, and other ****holes filled up with abandoned properties which the owner walked away from and which the city can't even come up with enough cash to tear down? Seriously, unless you are a homeless crack head no one wants to live there. As Gribbler said even the destitute would rather live in Lubbock as there at least isn't any crime there (plus it is $1000 cheaper and you get a nice big lot which isn't filled with used needles from heroine addicts).

It's not about wanting to live in Philly. It's about what you can afford. We already discussed that.

Okay, maybe Lubbock is better but people aren't moving from Philly to Lubbock in droves. It's too far and too drastic of a change.

Though the third world city probably has a lower crime rate.

Something people in Lubbock are no doubt thankful for.

                No. They get Mexicans instead.

On the upside, I hear Philly has a really nice farmers market and fresh sea food is widely available. Try getting that in a place like Lubbock!

No, you're the one who came here acting all high and mighty about how smug everyone else is, which is laughable in itself. I just pointed out your bias using Wall-E as the best example. While I gave concrete examples as to why the movie was made the way it was, you simply responded, "I didn't like it because I'm an overly sensitive baby. That means the movie sucks." So maybe the next time you feel like ripping into someone because they somehow offend your delusional sensibilities, you'll think about who the real jerk is.

IMO, the best Pixar movie. Slightly preachy, perhaps, but it actually happens to be an important message and doesn't detract from the storytelling.

You liked the movie. I don't. It's not a big deal. Your attitude has been every bit as self-satisfied and patronizing as Oerdin's OP (albeit in a different way), but the Wall-E example itself was an irrelevant distraction.
