It's not gonna happen, Imran. Is there some way we could perhaps explain to him that Christendom is infinitely safer without him guarding it?

Christendom is an alliance between church and state. And I am not guarding it.

You know, this isn't cute or funny. Think back to before you were a Christian. Did you find BK entertaining? Did your esteem for Christianity increase in any way from its most prominent member on this board being a silk-tongued pathological liar? Of course it didn't. I don't think it was coincidence that over the years Poly grew less and less friendly to us Jesus freaks. When the most prominent Christian was also the forum's worst member, why shouldn't it? It was no good trying to show the better side either; for one thing, we'd be working nonstop, and for another, it's basically impossible to push the faith that hard without being, basically, a pharisee like him.

And it went on and on and on, and finally he seems to be gone but BAM, here comes another one. Only instead of our Canadian friend's neverending ooze of malicious falsehood, we just get you calling people boogerheads for Jesus, nonstop. I can't say that I speak for anyone here but myself, but you've already admitted that your behavior serves no purpose. You're just being obnoxious for the sake of obnoxiousness. WHY DON'T YOU STOP? Or at least tone it down? I don't know what you think you're doing, but you're neither wise as a serpent nor harmless as a dove, and you're doing your God a very poor turn.

That, and it's just annoying in its own right.

Well I actually think I behave much more civil than a lot of people here.

I'm sorry if you expected me to share the same beliefs as you, but that's not going to be the case.

And I simply will not allow you to force me into a shared opinion with you.

Edit: Oh, and I don't know if you chased BenK away. If you did try to then you should be ashamed of that. Go ahead and try with me, but I suggest that you pack a lunch, because you'll need it.

Well, that's a really astoundingly low standard to hold yourself to.

I'm sorry if you expected me to share the same beliefs as you, but that's not going to be the case.
Actually, I'd almost prefer that you not share my beliefs. Or, continue to have Christian beliefs, but defend them in a less obnoxious manner.

And I simply will not allow you to force me into a shared opinion with you.
This has little to do with your opinion and much to do with your antisocial means of expressing it.

Edit: Oh, and I don't know if you chased BenK away. If you did try to then you should be ashamed of that. Go ahead and try with me, but I suggest that you pack a lunch, because you'll need it.
I'd say it was basically a collective effort of the whole site. When it got to the point where every post he made earned the reply "gee, BK, why don't you try Drano shots?" I think he got disheartened. But it's hard to say. Ideally, he'd have stopped his relentless campaign of lying, hate, and general evil and stayed on in a less dysfunctional capacity, but he showed no interest in that--he didn't even seem to understand why we objected to his behavior--and he might have burned his bridges anyway.

I may have been a little hard on him, but I was desperately sick of his deceit towards the end. I initially took the attitude that, while his whole act was vile, he was a fellow Christian and I needed to show solidarity. Then I came to realize that such behavior was helping nobody, only prolonging the agony. Every one of us who stood by him while he acted like that was simply encouraging him. He was our drunken uncle, and by supporting him we were giving him booze money. There's a verse in one of Paul's epistles, it goes something like, "as for a factious man, after admonishing him once or twice, have nothing to do with him, knowing that such a man is perverted and sinful; he is self-condemned." Not entirely applicable, but similar.

What we should have done is gathered around (figuratively speaking) and said, "BK, you're not a totally bad person. You can do some good things [this is true; even when I'd turned against him, he still tried to be nice to me, and in that respect he was the better man], but your behavior is reprehensible and it needs to stop. It's not only hurting yourself, it's hurting the rest of us, and more importantly, it makes the Christian faith look bad. Cut it out."

And that's what I say to you now. I'm glad you're a Christian now, but you're doing your faith a severe disservice by "defending" it as you do at present. I'm going to try not to think of you as an enemy, as I did BK, but I am going to oppose you as long as you continue this campaign of snark and name-calling.

I'm not going to get personal with you. You obviously wish to get personal with me. If you think I'm obnoxious I think it's because you don't like my beliefs, not because of the way I act.

But again, if you want to engage in a campaign be my guest.

Also, I'm not on a campaign to call names, but I'm going to call it what it is. Some people act stupid, and they can do better, but choose not to. So I'm not going to pander to it. Like I told Ming, "if your feeling aren't hurt what's the problem." Obviously people's feelings aren't hurt because they have chosen to act stupid.

Now if you got a problem, bring it. If anyone else does they can bring it too. I bet you'll get a better fight than you did with BK though.

If I wanted to get personal, I would reference your personal life in some way. And this isn't about your beliefs, except insofar as you're a professed Christian and thus your actions reflect on us to some extent. Your manner of expressing them is, shall we say, uncouth. I can't think of any Christian saint who acted the way you do, the way you say the Bible wants us to. Not one. Even St. Stephen only railed at the Pharisees when they had him on trial for his life. The rest were firm in their convictions, but mild in defending them.

Nobody ever defended the faith by saying, "Hey, you! You're a bad person! No, don't ask me why, don't try to defend yourself, just take it from me, you're a bad person! What? Do I know you? What does that have to do with anything? You're immoral! Oh yeah? Well, you're just stupid for thinking that, ha ha ha!" Jesus himself went among prostitutes, tax collectors, all the scum of the ancient world, but we have no record of his condemning them in that fashion. The closest he came was with the Samaritan woman at the well, and there he only stated facts calmly: "Yes, you've had five husbands, and now you're with a sixth man." How he reacted to atheists, we can't say, because there's no record of such things, but of course he had plenty of strong words for the self-righteous religious elite of his day.
