(I think I have already told this story)
    ( sorry if a repeat)

I was about 10,11, 12 one of those ages?
    I was hunting small game.
I had a brand new, single shot .410
Meat was hard to come by even living on the farm.
    except chicken.
(That why I hate fukcing chicken to this day.)
Well, I saw one them monsters and had lil boy dreams of bring home the bacon, big game hunter, being the hero, mom's lil man.. ya know.

I shot that damn thing and all I did was piss it off.
It started snarling and chasing me.
I drop my rifle, took off running ,screaming.
    That thing was fast!!!
I was lucky there was a tree nearby I could climb up.
Lost two squirrel and dropped my rifle in a big puddle of muddy water.
Scared the sh!t out of me!!!!

    Yep, they got my respect!!
well this makes it clear that children need semi-auto weapons for protection too, or even better if you had a RPG the hog would stand no chance

I never did get a chance to go boar hunting when I lived on the central coast but there are a metric **** ton of wild boars in that area. They're a real pest to farmers and just driving along on the road you'll see a half dozen to a dozen of them at a time on the edges of the forest.

Thank god there aren't millions of these guys in Texas today, right?

Now that is what I call a pig roast.

their reintroduction would be a boost for the arms industry. (combine Mammoth thread, gun thread, the hog thread and you get: ) Entelodont gun - every american should have one, for personal safety.

            Hey!! your on to something

Hunt and feed the hungry at the same time!
            Lets not forget making money!
Wonder if they could bring them back?
Even better let the hunters hunt with spears and bow/arrow only!
I would pay for that adventure.

I'm sorry, but you are incorrect. Just as dogs and wolves are the same species, so are domestic and feral swine (Sus scrofa). Of the three pics in your op, only the first is a "russian wild boar" (which is also Sus scrofa) the other two are clearly feral swine.

                  Ever hunted feral pigs?

                  BTW
                  That is a Javelina

                  This is a feral pig

I know the difference from a first hand account.

                      Nope. I've never hunted animals.

I recognized the javelina (although it was called a peccary in my head) and while your second pic appears to be a feral pig (based on the hair growth), its a very innocuous example of such animals and probably a recent convert to the wild.
