To say you can't improve, stop it, you're terrible, and nothing else is being a hater.
I don't feel bad, Asher and I have been bantering about music for years. I took his comments in the spirit in which they were intended

I think that is a feature I enjoy in the rare bits of spoken word that I have liked. I can't explain why.

There's an ironic dishonesty to people who perform spoken word.
      Maybe that's it.

      • Hey Asher, so if you had nothing positive to say then why didn't you just keep your mouth closed? Why post derogatory stuff? Just say you didn't like it and keep it moving.

Neither MikeH (I presume) nor myself are big-time and you know us from a different context beyond our art... Are you seriously the type that when someone you know brings to you their artistic creation of whatever kind, if you don't like it, you put them down?

Trash talk Sum 41 or whoever famous that you don't like all you want; hell, if you ever get an opportunity, trash talk it to their face; but if someone you know from a different context brings you something, you have no obligation to like it, but if you want to go beyond a simple "it's not my cup of tea, sorry, and I can't elaborate nor am knowledgeable enough to critique" then say something meaningful and critique. Otherwise, stick with the former. Your derision is uncalled for.

            • I actually think that Lady Gaga is un upgrade when you compared her to other female pop singers we have been getting lately

It may not be a huge merit, but she is more of a musician than say, Madonna or Britney

If you can't take negative feedback, you shouldn't be an "artist".

I'm the type that speaks my mind. If you post **** and only want positive feedback, perhaps restrict your audience to your family.

                      • She's definitely a cut well above most pop stars.

                          • We played at:

The Hob, Forest Hill (as bad as it sounds)
                            King's Head, Fulham (good)
Catapult Club, Amersham Arms, New Cross (amazing, Soft Cell's manager loved us)
                            Archway Tavern (awful)
Brixton Telegraph (amazing venue, mostly empty)

We didn't really bother trying for London venues after that. Always cost us a fortune in transport, never got paid much and was mostly too far for people who wanted to see us to go. Plus some of us had to drive so we couldn't drink.
