I can sort-of see the justification for having a handgun to protect your home, from muggings, whatever. But why the **** do you need 30 bullets in a clip in a handgun? The only thing I can see this useful for is a mass shooting...

well giving up on imperialism would be even nicer than giving up on guns from where I am standing ... and I agree that neither is likely to happen, however if you had stricter gun laws that rate would be likely to drop down hard regardless... from some other relatively developed countries, except already mentioned Argentina, you only have Turkey, Mexico, Russia and South Africa with higher murder rates...

the rate of violent crime would still be in current ballpark, there would only be a lot less death as a result of it... but yes... that is not changing any time soon...

Do you think that the US has had an easy time in Iraq or Afghanistan? Heavy weapons aren't everything.
