Sloww, it's precisely what the shooter here used. And it was 100% legally purchased.

In an ideal world only the gov would have gunpowder weapons and regular people would be forced to fight with knives, daggers, machetes and spears.

Why are there so many pleats on those trousers?

              Easier to hide weapons.

Because the government can be trusted to never abuse its power.

If the government abuses its powers, all of the 0.22s in the world won't save you.

You're far more likely to be killed by a whackjob buying a gun at the local K-Mart than you are by your government deciding to start killing its taxpayers.

If the US military could be brought down with handguns, it would be pretty useless. Of course America doesn't really need a useful military to stay uninvaded, but lots of people like to pretend it does.

Wasn't the last armed uprising against the US government intended to perpetuate slavery? The second amendment doesn't seem to have a very good track record for protecting freedom.

Well, that's only if you don't count other glorious examples of using arms to stand up to the government, like the Waco Siege

Right. I also forgot about how the Native Americans stopped being oppressed by the US government after they obtained guns.

In June 2008 some Japanese guy killed 7 by using a knife, injured another 10.

IIRC they had several other cases in Japoan of guys running amok using knives, sometimes without people being killed, 'just' wounded. Maybe the June 2008 guy was a ninja or something, but at least it's possible to kill scores of people with a knife.

That being said, I'm not really in favour of guns in private hands.....or at least be consquent and give out tanks etc too

This is ****ing retarded. A personal firearm is only useful against other citizens.

Also, a personal firearm doesn't protect against violations of the 4th Amendment. If you have a firearm during a no-knock raid, expect to be shot.
