For a pittance we can throw in a second bus with all our religious nuts.
I have a feeling Canada has plenty of religious nuts in the woodwork, if a visit to a baseball game in Toronto had anything to go by...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

      • I can't remember the last time I interacted with one in person.

Poly is my source for religious nuts.

That's the same argument as the Jody Foster one, which is a non sequitur. Clearly you don't know what incitement to violence actually is, because the examples I give couldn't be any closer. One person says something to encourage others to act out violently against others either through direct orders or by labeling the other group a threat.

Here are some examples that you primitive mind may understand:
As a mature adult, I refrain from hurling juvenile insults. Hopefully you'll follow my example one day.

My definition of incitement to violence does not include such vagaries as "labeling groups a threat" - obviously ideological groups are a threat to one another. I suppose you'd like to see such speech criminalized.

You'd have to believe in a higher power to be a Toronto sports fan.

Maybe someday your definition will catch up with the rest of the world.

Indeed. Our laws are not strict enough, either.

No reason at all for handguns to be legal in Canada. None.

I didn't twist anything. The author clearly has an axe to grind regarding immigration - for example, he uses the term "anti-immigrant" to refer to people and groups that oppose illegal immigration.

I couldn't be bothered with a real answer.

We have traffic fatalities in this country as well. Clearly our road laws have no effect.

Sadly for you, the law disagrees.

                          • However, I'll state again that I don't believe that legal action can or should be taken against the right-wing hate-mongers in this case. I too believe that the individual is to blame in this case and support freedom of speech. Yet, the culture of hate created by the right is irresponsible.

Tell me, Cali, what do you think of the Malcom X quotes?

Then we are in agreement, except for the last part. Ideologues on both the left and the right are guilty of inflammatory language. There are plenty of examples from both sides.

I agree with the first two sections - disagree with the last two.

I'm not sure I'd equate traffic accidents with handgun murder.
