ok fair enough, allow us to disprove your theory for you!
If you would like to, try.

I mostly don't see atheists attempting to disprove theism/etc. Rather, I see atheists try to cast it as silly or not worth their time seriously thinking about it.

If you are so stridently against religion, why don't you take the time to understand it in general (and in particular, for the ones which people currently follow), before you attack it?

      • What about the World Wars? Surely in such a cataclysmic conflict, God would have come down on the side of good?

Both sides claimed God was on their side - was he hedging his bets? Was he secretly happy that the Nazis were killing the Jews because they killed Jesus...!?

        So many questions!!!
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

What do you consider evidence of theism?

I'm against homeopathy as well (for many of the same reasons). I don't need further study to know it's a crock. It can't pass initial muster.

Homeopathy makes claims that are counter to the claims that Science makes. You can not be consistent and think that Homeopathy is true and Science is true.

(Some) Religions make claims which are not counter to the claims that Science makes. You can be consistent and think that (some) religions are true and Science is true.

                  Entirely different.

(Note that Kids version of Christianity does likely make claims that are counter to the claims that Science makes. The (some) is important!)

One would think that your attacks would make more sense then. There are rational and well defined attacks made on religion, yours are (generally) not.

Sorry Jon. Saying it (and believing it) doesn't make it so.

                      Both are BS.

                        • With all due respect Jon, I put you in my "broken by religion" category.

You are clearly a smart man that says and believes some very stupid things when it comes to "faith".

                          • Makes perfect sense to me: Nobody has seen God for thousands of years despite a supposed huge flurry of activity in an extremely localised area - therefore some people made him up to exert control over the gullible masses...

Certainly makes more sense than those who claim he exists without providing a shred of proof...

                              YES!!

that would be fair as a scientific test.
Both sided have to be understood.
i have been on both sides.
                              I believe in GOD.
                              not ashamed to admit.

Show that my Religion makes claims contradictory to the claims that Science makes. Or, that would be too hard because you don't know me well, ask me questions where you think that my Religion makes claims contradictory to those made by Science.

Or show that Polkinghome's Religion makes claims counter to those made by Science. Or other well known Christian Scientists (as you are more likely to know what their religion is, as you can read about it online/in books).
