No, I would not pray to some god when in a bad situation.
If I wouldn't pray to one I would see no need to give thanks to one.
i will not push.

promise.
I think you have this backward. This thread is more fun than a trip to the zoo."I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow
"I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it." - Mark Twain

Why dismiss the old gods so easily Jon? I'd be willing to bet their adherents were at least (if not more) ardent in their beliefs than you are.

So anyway, back to my story...
After travelling round the world and living in NZ for 3 years, I returned to London and rented a room in King's Cross. Eager to renew ties with my friends, I looked up some old work colleagues and met up with an old mate I used to do kickboxing with and found out he'd become religious all of a sudden. He asked me if I wanted to come along some time and I was intrigued - he was a macho alpha male type - what made him turn to religion all of a sudden!?
I also had time on my hands, so thought why not, out of curiosity.
Now, London is a really big place. We'd met for lunch in south London where I used to work and I was living in north London and he lived north of London, so this place he was talking about could have been absolutely anywhere!!!
You can therefore imagine my surprise when he said to meet in King's Cross - what are the chances of that I thought, that in all of London, his church was in the same area as I lived!?
So, we decided to me at the station on the appointed day and he would give me a lift to the church. As we left, he turned north, the way I'd come - another coincidence! Then he turned down a road which was the only exit from a series of roads in the area I lived - a bigger coincidence! Then we turned up my street and parked...
...opposite my house!!!
Their church was held in the community school opposite where I lived - my front door was the closest door to the front door of the school!!! Was this a sign!!?
So anyway, they all seemed nice and Christian etc, really cool actually and my hardcore mate was won over by them, could this be what I was looking for in my life: God and faith?

#1. Wow!, uhm....it will satisfy some of what your looking for?
Give purpose in some peoples lives.
#2. I do not like religions
#3. none (that I know of)
#4. Knowing GOD is there.Last edited by Docfeelgood; January 17, 2011, 12:57.
