Would this be more fun for you if I said I don't think the points should be awarded? You seem to be looking for an argument where none is offered.

You're the one who went trolling for objections. I'm just saying that was silly.
So what is my role here? Am I simply to award points when a player claims them? If that is what you want a clever bot would be what you need. I'm not interested in that job.
Since we go through something similar every year I can only assume I am the problem here. Indeed it is "just a game" but I have no interest in organizing and playing in a game without rules.
I will update points monthly until the end of the year but then I'm done with the Dead Pool. Anyone wishing to continue the pool in further years can have my blessing (and any files I have on the pool) but not my participation. It just isn't worth the hassle.

Oh, come on, Wez. Tell them to stick it where the sun doesn't shine, and don't worry.

Obviously, it's within your purview to interpret and administer the rules. I acknowledge that. If you were to choose to declare OBL's death as non-qualifying due to lack of a corpus, so be it. I would (just as obviously) disagree.
But the simple fact is that you started this conversation and, as an interested party, I just responded with my opinion on the matter. Sure seemed like that opinion was (1) solicited and (2) not surprising, given I had picked OBL.
Wezil, you should know me well enough to realize it was a tweak, a minor troll. Why you decided to take it as a personal attack rather than how it was intended -- as a normal post, well within the norms of the thread -- is beyond me. But since it was obviously perceived that way, all I can do is apologize.
I'm well aware that the Dead Pool can be a pain in the ass to deal with. I ran it for a year, as well you know. I appreciate the time and effort that you put into it. Sorry to have made it more of a pain than usual.

I think -Jrabbit is the only one to pick him, which pisses me off royal, because I remember thinking when it was announced he had esophageal cancer back last year, "I gotta put him on my list."
Why don't I write this **** down somewhere?

It was only in the last couple of days that he announced he wouldn't seek more treatment. Bummer. RIP.

Yvette Vickers (Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, Attack of the Giant Leeches, 1959 playmate) was found in April in a mummified state that suggested she may have been dead for a year. Link.
If you had picked her, it wouldn't count.
