I give up on you. By all means keep eating your boxed cereal. It's not like you have much genetic value to society anyway.

Oh, you think eating grains stops people from passing on their genes?

Look at all the minerals I can get from Cheerios. This is supposed to be bad for me?

Ah, you're Canadian. Now that is funny. Believe what you like Gribbler. I'm not going to sit here and explain to you how those vitamins and minerals got in there in the first place. You really have no value at this point. You can't even exceed 1-2 sentences on a forum. It's becoming more and more clear to me that my first conclusion regarding your posting of that study in my wisdom thread was in fact accurate.

No, I posted the first link I found on Google. I assume Cheerios are the same in America.

Now you're just lying. The only way a Canadian website for Cheerios is going to come up first on Google is if you're in Canada.

It was on the first page. I don't see why Google would hate Canadian websites.

Sorry, I'm kind of getting bored now. Unless you can come up with a reason as to why you have any use whatsoever, this discussion is finished. It's pretty clear at this point what you are. I completely overestimated you it would seem. What a waste.

You can't actually give me a good reason to not eat Cheerios. That's okay, I wasn't expecting one.

For starters check out various grain based food Glycemic indexes. In other words most have a big impact on blood sugar levels, can you imagine why certain patters of blood sugar change could be bad for you?

gribbler, you do realize that all those vitamins and minerals are not inherent to cheerios? Why do you think on the ingredients list it says:

vitamins & minerals: niacinamide, calcium pantothenate, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin b6), folate, iron.
Cereals are fortified with this stuff in chemical form. It's essentially a multivitamin added to cereal. That's how Total has 100% of everything.

He also ignored the whole insulin insensitivity issue.

I'm not surprised. I got into a big argument with the other Genius Clique members (KrazyHorse and Drake Tungston [now Tupac Shakur]) over just this issue and since, to gribbler's mind, the Genius Clique can not be wrong, he won't listen.

You guys are wasting your time explaining things to an idiot. The guy can't string more than one or two sentences together and you're trying to explain something like the glycemic index and additive vitamins and minerals in boxed cereal? Come on. Stick to discussing hockey or something with him. Although you may find it difficult to even do that.

Until you account for possible genetic reasons why they can tolerate saturated fat better, then you can't really draw a conclusion. It's been proven beyond a doubt that saturated fats are unhealthy. I'm all for eating decent amounts of unsaturated fats. Fact is I can eat a diet of saturated fat and protein and have a very low body fat percentage, but that doesn't mean that the saturated fat is healthy. Also, you don't know what their total calorie count is, their total amount of saturated fat intake, what else they are eating in the presence of saturated fat, etc.
It should be noted that the Masai also consume no grains since they're herders, not farmers. The Inuit are another often-cited people that consume vast quantities of saturated fat but have none of the diseases associated with saturated fat in the modern world, but also do not eat grains. Both groups also obviously are more active than Americans.

So I think a diet of fruits, vegetables, and meat regardless of it being lean or not combined with regular physical activity would be the healthy ideal.

I don't feel like searching for research but it could be that saturated fats in the presence of a high-carb diet might be a problem, hence why saturated fats appear to be such a bane in the American diet which is so high in grains.
