I don't see that much difference between his high school and public ones. The real main difference here I think is the Computer Science offerings which as far as I know aren't offered in public school. Otherwise, the science, math, humanities, etc. are pretty much identical. The only other thing that stands out is the languages offered which, for the most part, exceeds those offered in public High schools.

Speak, fool. I can't stand this Genius Clique habit of just laughing at ****. You know how the school operates better than I. I see it is a public school but is neither a charter or a magnet school. Clearly, it has funding out the ass if it can have neuroscience labs and supercomputers and crap. It clearly has more money than other schools.Originally posted by Kuciwalker View Postendowment

I said I'd bet not... the fact that schools with less funding do as well as HC's school is evidence that money per student shows no correlation with student outcomes. I'm supporting what you just said.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

Yeah the extent of computer science in my school was a single-year class in C++ programming. Most schools stick with just French, Spanish, and one other language (in my school, Italian but some schools German) as the languages.Originally posted by DriXnaK View PostI don't see that much difference between his high school and public ones. Although, MG classes always exist where you can do more. My school had MG classes after school or during lunch-time for those who wanted to learn Japanese, etc. I think there were computer science MG classes as well. MG classes were more informal though."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

Oh really?Originally posted by KrazyHorse View PostThen you need to learn to craft semantically accurate sentences
Let's take a look shall we?
Ok you said it shows no correlation... I say...Money spent per student shows almost no correlation with student outcomes
I'd bet not... meaning I bet they would show no correlation.... how is that confusing or semantically inaccurate?I'd bet not if all the magnet schools have the same funding as any other public school and still have high marks close to a school like HC's that seems to have millions in endowment.
and if you were confused, clearly the meaning of the rest of my sentence supported your claim. Reading comprehension is a skill."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

No it's not magnet school nor charter. I don't know what it is beyond that it's public. Maybe HC or Kuci could explain how it has so much funding.Originally posted by DriXnaK View PostOh, it's just a public magnet school. I was expecting something a little more grand. I guess that's why the curriculum was almost standard public school.

Not according to the US News & World Report.Originally posted by gribbler View PostAsians aren't minorities?
Looking at the school's website, I don't believe HC's school has gym class
At least not 4 years worth of gym.

Seriously, I don't care about minorities in school. Honestly, I don't know why they even keep numbers on it. If they're not capable of making it in on their own merits then they don't belong. It's that simple. Your only case would be if they're actively discriminating, and there's no case for that pretty much ever. Asians do just fine here in the US, so I don't give a **** if every single other minority fails and then asks for a hand out. If a people can't sustain themselves then that is their own problem. Race based initiatives in education have done nothing other than water down the system and provide people with diplomas that don't deserve them.

My school is 8th in the top-100 for African-American enrollment at 30.8%... HC's school has 1.9% Black enrollment.

You had opportunities to engage in real research with great facilities/opportunities? I am pretty sure that many of the facilities/opportunities there are better even than at some average universities or good colleges.Originally posted by DriXnaK View PostI don't see that much difference between his high school and public ones.
