    QFT.

This might not be a Civ site anymore but I for one am happy to have a place where loons like Drixie and, lets face it, the rest of us, can throw poo at each other without hallway monitors bellowing "INFRACTION" every two minutes.

The off topic of civfanatics is horrible with horrible mods and horrible posters, we have little posters here because when someone young and new and stupid pops up he takes a beating.

I prefer Apolyton for Civ questions and strategy tips. There is a lot banked up here.

I also like it that our OT moderators must be away on a permanent holiday. I do hope they are enjoying themselves, perhaps cruising the sunny mediteranean. Meanwhile we need not worry about the bellowing hallway monitors.

A very good point. Our OT really should be more merciful to new posters. The rest of us are quite accustomed to all this. Civfanatics idea of a full on flame war is something we wouldn't even notice.

The OT is ok how it is. It's never going to be a draw to the site anyways, since there are countless places on the net to find this sort of stuff.

The problem is the dead on-topic, now Poly has no draw.

The problem was the previous administration spent all day whining about how the OTF was killing the site. In the process, they were neglecting the on-topic section, which was killing the site.

Then the next problem is the new administration moves at a snail's pace and seemingly intentionally chose default settings to drive away newbies.

When I go on-topic I want strategy tips and modding tips and I have had plenty here on Poly. I don't care about interviews with some dude from Firaxis or that other peripheral stuff. I simply do not care about all the other junk on this site. On-topic I focus on the game itself. On OT I inanely spam.

It's the "stupid" part that generally causes the beatings.

For example. gribbler is not stupid, but is new and (I have the impression) fairly young. Nobody beat on him too bad...

III was the golden age of Poly on-topic activity? What kind of drugs are you taking?

No draw here? WTF are you doing here then? Go back to CFC where you think it's so golden, Aeson. I like you and all, but you're talking like an idiot.

the most activity I remember was civ 2 mp, tribes (I still got that shield for Tuatha Danainen?) and then we got a Diplomacy league (Avalon Hill?) going in the other games section for a year or so, that was an added bonus. It would be fun to get some of these inhabitants of the OT into Diplomacy games

                        damn thats a nasty game

hey, I dont have the shield anymore. Must have lost it on the site's redo

Both OT subforums suck in different ways. OT in Civ fanatics is uninteresting and over-moderated. Apolyton OT is just as boring but with the added aspect of monotonous intellectual masturbation. It wasn't so bad in the past but there aren't many regulars left and the few who are left can usually be categorized as either know it alls or cantankerous ****bags.

The Tuatha Dé Danann are a race of people in Irish mythology.
I have the shield. I just don't know how to attach it anymore.
