Chris Hayes, tapped Friday by MSNBC to fill in for the indefinitely suspended Keith Olbermann as host of the prime-time political show “Countdown,” gave money to two Democratic campaigns in recent years. Now, following that disclosure, MSNBC says Mr. Hayes won’t get the gig after all.
Mr. Hayes, editor of The Nation, a liberal magazine, made a series of donations to Josh Segall, an Alabama Democrat, who ran for Congress in 2008 and considered running in the Democratic primary for this election. Mr. Hayes donated $1,500 to Mr. Segall in 2008 and $250 in December 2009, according to Federal Election Commission records.
[...]
Several hours later, MSNBC said Mr. Hayes was no longer slated to take Mr. Olbermann’s place. The network said it would name a new replacement soon.I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

Why would that bar him from getting the job? As I understand it, Olbermann only got in trouble because he didn't preclear his donations. Was this guy working for NBC when the donations were made (I honestly don't know the names of most of these talking heads)?12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

Why would they get rid of him?
Why are you so stupid?"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Good compared to what? Fox news kicks the **** out of him. Furthermore, MSNBC got absolutely owned during election coverage. I guess if your only market is the fringe left wing and you're fine with only ever getting that, then sure, he's great. If you're looking to be number one though, he doesn't cut it.

Well to be fair, everyone loses to Fox. CNN and MSNBC combined can't even compare. MSNBC has a choice: They can continue to serve their niche market, which is the fringe left, or they can attempt to appeal to a more mainstream audience. It's obvious they've maxed out what they're going to get out of their current line up. They can either accept that or try something different. If you're a shareholder, what do you think you'd want?

You're both too stupid for words right now.
Perhaps someone else can explain."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
