What is dry shaving, can someone please explain? According to Wikipedia

Shaving can be done with a straight razor or safety razor (called 'manual shaving' or 'wet shaving') or an electric razor (called 'dry shaving').
What what what? I thought dry shaving was using a normal razor blade NOT AN ELECTRIC ONE and without lube. Personally, I want to know if using an electric razor is going to give me problems since I don't use the lube and I don't want to be dry shaving ingrown facial hairs..whatever that even means

Tomorrow morning by the way I am going to use the electric razor in the shower but I am going to be standing on a tire just in case (the same principle protects you when you are in a car during a lightning storm).

I didn't use water or cream until 4-5 years ago. I don't normally use cream now.

I forgot to bring my shaver to the country for my bro's wedding this weekend, so the clerk at the front desk gave me the WORST disposable razor ever (NOT EVEN A BIC!) and a package of "shaving cream" that was 100% solid due to it being 10 years past its expiry date.

So I had to use this cheap razor to "dry shave", and oh my ****ing God, it took 30 mins and felt like ****ing sandpaper.

For day 2, I just told everyone I was going for the 5 o'clock shadow look.

          That is all.

Just tell them it's the new gay fashion tip and they are welcome.

A wash cloth of hot water applied to the shaving area and left to soak for a bit will make shaving without soap or shaving cream a lot more doable. Kind of like shaving in the shower. DOH

I dont' want advice for shaving my pubes, thanks, in case that wasn't clear. I want a serious answer from someone who isn't trying to kill me as to whether I can use my electrick razor in the shower AND IF SO, whether this practice is considered dry shaving or WET SHAVING. If asking the questions people would be embarrassed to ask on Yahoo Answers is a crime, then I plead guilty

As long as your electric razor is not plugged into a wall outlet, it's perfectly safe to use in the shower.

Electrics are nearly as good as a blade - when new. To extend that period of acceptable performance, they need to be opened up and brushed clean regularly. Also, if you don't replace the cutter heads annually, you will definitely be settling for an inferior shave.

I use an electric because: they're faster; I get a good shave; they don't chop up my face; they don't irritate my skin; and the on-board trimmer is convenient and effective.

Oh, and I would have to assume using it in the shower is considered wet shaving. If your face is, you know, WET.
