Sub-saharan Africa has virtually no military strength to speak of, and even North Africa is pretty third rate.

I have no idea where you get the idea that Africans are some kind of fearsome warriors. For the most part, armed groups in Africa are only capable of terrorizing civilians, something they're quite willing to do as they are HORRIBLE PEOPLE.

Delta Force operators and Army Rangers, KH... The best of the best lost men. That's kind of not supposed to happen with your mindset.

But you're right, like I said many posts ago, if an invader is willing to engage in genocide, then it would be no problem. If you're trying to hold land, introduce a new form of government, and win the hearts and minds of the people, things get a lot more complicated and the insurgents have a much better chance of doing well.

And let's not act like the Vietcong were much better or more advanced than Afghan insurgents or Somali militia.
