Then there's the cockney 'guv'nor!' Dick van **** in Marry Poppins sort of accent which represents poor rabble to us Americans which some of you Brits (Buggs) seem to have.

Two things.

Dick van ****'s 'accent' is a hopeless and laughable fake. Listen to Michael Caine in something like 'Get Carter' instead.

How you could associate the accent portrayed by Laz/Bugs as cockney is staggering. It would be like a British person being unable to distinguish between Noo Yoik and Texas.

The "Toronto" accent she picked is the stereotypical Canadian accent, which is mostly rural or eastern Canadian. Not "Toronto", in any case.

She should've pronoucned it "Torona", that's all she had to do.

As I said, the difference between London and Bristol is as drastic as New York and Texas.

People don't seem to comprehend what the characters mean.

If you asked these people what "berry" is supposed to be pronounced, they'd probably say "berry" properly...but "strawberry" becomes "strawburry", etc?
