When that high school sailing ship sunk off the coast of Brazil, all the media called it a Canadian ship. It wasn't flagged in Canada, it was flagged in the Bahamas. It was just owned by and operated by and contained Canadians. Just like the Turkish ship here.

Other inaccurate reports do not make this one any better.

The nationaslity of a ship is an important point, and its nationality is that of its flag.

17 years old from the same sheltered background as Kuci. He'll be fine in 10 years.

I'm positive that no law was violated by boarding the ships in international waters.

It is common practice in blockades to intercept shipping on the high seas.

It is the validity of the blockade that you should question.

You yourself just said that the official registry of a ship is inconsequential and therefore irrelevant.

Stealing the property of a dead man with no next of kin is still stealing, for instance. No material consequence, I suppose that means it's a-okay for you?
I believe [but may be mistaken; this may vary by jurisdiction] that property would otherwise have been auctioned and the proceeds collected by the state, so there is a material consequence.

He's trying to troll Asher; his opinions on this issue are stupid, but they aren't quite this stupid.

                Very astute. Good work.

The material consequence here is you don't know for 100% certainty they would enter Israeli waters.

It could've been a ruse or a bluff.

That's why you need to wait til they enter your waters before attacking people. You can't nuke a country and then say "they were gonna attack us" and have it be okay either.

I have questioned the validity of the blockade. My discussion was Kuci was in his hypothesis that even if the law was broken, it didn't matter.

Ohhh that's ridiculous Asher, just admit it, your argument sucks.

                      Well, good luck with that.

Attacking the blockade due to it being a disproportionate burden on the people of Gaza is going to be a bit tricky considering that the UN sanctioned the blockade of Iraq which resulted in the starvation deaths of a lot of people.

I am wondering if the deaths in Iraq would amount to a greater number than the entire population of Gaza.

There's also an uncomfortable issue of Turkey blockading Armenia in a complete absense of formal hostilities.

                        • I also get pissed off when the loud mouth Islamist Turkish President claims there is a genecide in Gaza while Turkey still won't admit they actually systematically murdered 1-2 million Armenians.

furthermore, they aren't actually trying to kill all the gazans, just the gazans trying to kill them

Asher, that argument fails all the time but it fails especially hard when you are so remarkably, obviously wrong. It's purely rhetorical, admit it.
