He's actually kinda right on that.

Likewise. It was a tough call. I decided Agnew would be a rough GOP equivalent of LBJ, while Quayle didn't have any discernible intelligence or political savvy. Just nice hair.

If the poll was based on being evil and reprehensible, Cheney in a walk.

I think a more interesting question for this thread is, "Who is that guy in VJ's avatar?"

How is Cheney evil as opposed to merely being bad ass?

Umm, is this a veiled threat against the president? Are you plotting an assassination?

At the very least if it wasn't for him impeachment of judges would become far more of a commonplace thing to settle political odds (which the Jeffersonians were very interested in doing, by impeaching Federalist judges because they disagreed with them on policy). Burr made it clear that it was far more than just a simple law, but a big deal to impeach a judge. Probably saved the Republic from that menace.
How often are judges impeached these days?

EDIT: After posting I realized this question makes little sense. I'm basically thinking that a little impeachment is a good thing. There was a case I read about recently where a man was convicted to death, and it was later discovered that the judge and prosecutor had been ****ing. If we never impeach anybody, then you end up with abuses like that.

Frankly I have no love for judges. They act high and mighty, and they're just a vestige of medieval despotism. A little humility would improve them.

                      He was sentenced to death.
Convicted to death makes it sound like he received so many convictions throughout his life that the stress of repeatedly going to court and being found guilty killed him

Ummm, no. How do you figure? The Soviet Union was poor prior to WW2, and wasn't getting much better, or at least not on par with the West. Hell, even though the Ukraine is one of the most arable regions on the planet, the Soviet Union was a net food IMPORTER. Wonder why? Collectivization, perhaps?

And even if no Cold War made the USSR rich and prosperous, so what? It was still one of the most brutal regimes in the history of the planet.
