I guess that's my point. Every day the media and a lot of people here, kept pointing at the lack of response from the government and crucified the Bush administration. (i'll agree that some of it was justified) but a daily sampling of the media now shows minor criticism at most. (except for FOX of course)It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

CNN has had news reporters and anchorpersons ask pointed questions to Obama administration office holders, or supporters and have pressed the point repeatedly at times, when the person did not answer the question. Maybe it's not happening as often as you'd like.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

My only issue with the current administration was their initial and somewhat continued reliance on BP to resolve the problem that they created in the first place. Granted hindsight makes those early decision seem quite naive. And yes I believe that the admin should be taking more shots. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

What else can they do? It's not like there's resources/expertise they have and aren't using."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

You're also never going to see Obama utter the words "I'm in charge" as he wants to avoid the blame for the lackadaisical government response thus far. Shifting the responsibility for the planning of the clean-up to BP makes more political sense for him despite an obligation for him to do so.
Why should the President of the USA be in charge of CLEANING UP AN OIL SPILL caused by a CORPORATION? Seriously, the President of the USA "SHIFTING THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PLANNING OF THE CLEAN-UP" to the company ****ing responsible for the mess?
BP is to be held wholly accountable for this mess, including its cleanup.
Obama should be focusing on legislation to prevent future such ****ups, he shouldn't be mopping it ****ing up.
And I'm a huge big-oil supporter. Even I see this. Leave it to be a Republican to think the government should meddle in the affairs of a corporation when it ****s up the environment, but should stay out of things when it makes billions.

The main issue is everyone knows there is no way to stop those leaks except by doing the same thing people were doing 50 years ago; namely, drilling a relief well. That will take another two months (they've already been drilling for a month now) so the oil spill will end up being three times its current size before they can stop it. Technologically there just isn't another reasonable way to stop this and the rest is just PR in order to appear to be doing something. The administration knows this (hell, anyone who works in the oil business knows this) thus the administration doesn't want to say "I'm in charge" because it knows this will keep going on for two more months. That's why they're letting BP be in charge so that way the anger can be directed at BP instead of at the administration.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Normally Asher, I'd agree with you on this, but the clean up isn't working and it's already a catastrophe of the highest level.
