Although his years in academia certainly prepped him in a solid fashion to backstabbing, politicking and popularity contests, sadly, I don't think that he'll measure up to some of the members of his new line of work. I am not familiar with states-side investment bankers, though.

I attempted to find a picture of a vulture picking the corpse of a hyena, but I didn't find any. :/

The first thing you need to know about Goldman Sachs is that it's everywhere. The world's most powerful investment bank is a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money. In fact, the history of the recent financial crisis, which doubles as a history of the rapid decline and fall of the suddenly swindled dry American empire, reads like a Who's Who of Goldman Sachs graduates.

I think it's cute that you guys actually think this will hurt Goldman. They're unstoppable.

It won't make a jot of difference (if it remains civil). You can still have fun.

what Big Crunch said, plus, this too shall pass, sic transit, dust in the wind and other relatives.

I seriously don't really care that much about Goldman, I try to, but I just can't, either way. This country hasn't really suffered that much from the crisis, and my career plans don't have a whole lot to do with investment banking.

sometimes, my own levelheadedness-to-apathy and calm about world affairs baffle me, I guess it works considering the fact that I am a long-term optimist.

Being a long-term optimist in any country is pretty silly, but being one in Israel seems particularly myopic.

actually I was referring to global issues in my long-term optimism. With regards to personal affairs, while giving others the benefit of the doubt over causes and cirumstances of failure, I like treating my destiny as a product of my own creation. A personal quirk. It is in radical change that great destinies are forged, lives are bettered progress is made, fortunes are amassed. Incimentalism has it's place, of course, but I am pretty much incrimentally dead already, and so are all of us.

But enough about me, and more about KH's upcoming trip upstate.

I look forward to KH's letters from jail. Maybe he and Wiglaf can become pen pals
