No one ever does but the truth is such boring regulations save thousands of live in an earthquake. I get most pissed off when redneck southern white trash go around on forums claiming government regulations are evil and bad. The truth is most of those regulations are needed to stop people from dying. They save lives and are good. Even the non-life or death regulations wouldn't be needed if the abuses weren't occurring. It is that simple.

Yes, thank you for stating the obvious four times in this thread. Please state it again.

Oerdin doesn't get very many chances to be proud of his state.

Let's here it to a strong building code and strong enforcement of government regulations. California is just about the last America state where we can still expect such good service from government.
I'd be rather annoyed if they had the same building regulations in Virginia, seeing as we don't have earthquakes here. If your point is "laws can be good, too" I don't think you need to convince anyone of that.

I think building regulations are just laws that coddle the weak.

Oerdin, Haiti and N Mexico are not libertarian. And there are libertarians who build above code, they just dont think you should be forced to do the same. Now, maybe building codes are nice an all but if you dont have a roof over your head you'll take what you can get. So how many people would you have sleeping outside waiting for their code approved dwellings?

I can conclusively say that some southern pieces of **** still have not gotten the message, they continue to claim building codes have nothing to do with lives saved. Don't believe me? Read this garbage.

                Especially page 3.

I agree that the same level of regulation wouldn't be needed though earthquakes still occur in Virginia albeit less frequently. Never the less dumb asses are claiming no regulation is needed, check the link in the previous post.

So if people over there are dumb enough to argue about it, why are you arguing about it here still?

The end result, ALWAYS, from libertarianism is that numbnuts cut corners and try not to do the best job because that is how you make the most money. That is a universal truth.

If large numbers of people are dumb enough to claim the sky isn't blue then we have a problem. The problem is people are too stupid to recognize reality. They still claim that building codes don't effect how many people die in earthquakes and other such rubbish. If you doubt me see the link I posted. Those southerners are crazy.

If you don't live in a quake zone, why the **** should you care about earthquakes?

Also federal regulation on building codes would be pretty retarded.

I'm retarded. That's why I go to a magnet school.

Also you have a case of the angry tonight.

Now I ought to get back to my AP calc homework. Polar equations don't integrate themselves.
