No one cares about building regulations.

No one ever does but the truth is such boring regulations save thousands of live in an earthquake. I get most pissed off when redneck southern white trash go around on forums claiming government regulations are evil and bad. The truth is most of those regulations are needed to stop people from dying. They save lives and are good. Even the non-life or death regulations wouldn't be needed if the abuses weren't occurring. It is that simple.

I'm still shocked. That evil government regulation doing exactly what it is supposed to do; saving lives and preventing corners from being cut by for profit companies who would love to save a buck even if it meant someone dying a decade later.

Let's here it to a strong building code and strong enforcement of government regulations. California is just about the last America state where we can still expect such good service from government.
