I think, BK, that there's some confusion here between intellectual/aesthetic/personal/social criticism, and political criticism. What PG is attempting to do is the former, but you seem to be seeing it as the latter. He is criticising the effects that the current system has on the development of any refinement in intellect, personal morality (Lewis' 'The Inner Ring' and 'The Abolition of Man' are excellent reads in this context), the aesthetic sense, and the sense of social cohesion so necessary for healthy living. These are not political criticisms, though they criticise the outcomes of decisions or actions arrived at through political processes.

But Drake has a point. If you are going to list the nerd comedians (to attempt to deflect the exception that proves the rule), you should probably list a bunch that are actually well known and not just "going to be big" or "appeared on HBO" (do you know HOW many comics appear on HBO?!!)
