Why are you laughing? I bet the majority of SK's area is not blessed with reliable digital cell service.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

IIRC Sasktel is the only carrier in Canada that is CDMA-only now.

Wrong, I'm avoiding everyone calling me.
I also have comcast so when our home phone rings, the number pops up on the TV, thus allowing me to avoid even more calls.
I also have caller ID at work and use it avoid unwanted calls.

I don't feel that just because someone calls me that I have to answer.

When I was younger and ran a computer ops and telephone center I was on call 24/7 and I learned to loath it. So now I have the choice to avoid whatever communications I want.

I personally think people are punishing themselves by being so connected.

You know you can do that with a cell phone too, right?

A cell phone is a bigger disruption because it would be in my pocket or briefcase and I'd have to pull it out to check. Most phone calls aren't worth that effort. If I'm at work or at home I can see the number without any additional effort.

Heck I don't even check my voice mail on my cell phone. My message says don't waste your time by leaving a message because I don't bother checking them.

I consider my time valuable and refuse to waste it on most of the morons that are calling me.

Unless you're a young adult that feels that have to know what everyone is doing, (and even then) I think people are idiots that keep themselves that connected. GET A LIFE.

Let's stop trying to get rah to join the 21st century and get back to the watch porn, ok? I approve of MikeH's contribution; it's a nice-looking watch.

Wouldn't keeping connected BE conducive to having a life?
