I don't think he is "screwing principle". He's just being realistic. If the money is ALREADY THERE, why not try to do his best for the people he is representing. It's too late to stop the fed from spending it in the first place.

If your principle is that it shouldn't be spent, it is best to keep your hands clean, rather than take it because everyone else is doing it. After all, actions speak louder than words.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)

Who spends it, and on what is a huge deal.
Ron Paul is a dilhole.
Given his fiscal track record, if anyone's going to decide who and where, I'll take Dr. Paul, thanks.
I expect his son to operate his Senate office under budget too. More Drs. Paul in Congress please.

The "action" is on those that voted for it and passed it... Those are what speak louder than words.
Once the money is passed, it is his responsibility to best represent his people. That's his job.Keep on Civin'

I can only guess what other people think, but Dino's suggestion that Dr. Paul ought to return earmarked 'pork' money to the Treasury is obviously based in ignorance.
