If I get it rigth, then you are only insured if you have more than 20 hours of work and it's probably dropped when fired. It's pretty idiotic that only people in work are covered - i.e. out of work - getting sick - no help - don't get a job etc. - bad circle.
If instead, the payment is an insurance that also covers out of work, retirement, then payment as young begins to make sense.
Yeah, "that's what insurance companies are for" I hear, but that's not true - insurance companies only exist to make money, not helping people.
Sorry for agreeing with you Drake - will do my best not doing it in the futureWith or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Actually, I believe that you still get benefits for awhile even after you've lost your job.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”

Yeah, probably, but I guess that there is a limit. Here in our evil commie society, all pay a small amount from young to old and have a lifetime healtcare guarantee.
Young people are probably pissed since they have to pay for something that they don't need, but strangely, when they get older, they seem to find the idea kind of good - guess that it's because old people are loosing their mindWith or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. Well, I guess that if you are in trouble considering healt care, this may be the solution .
Though, it could be a problem if a large amount of hospitals are the target of people rebellion. With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I've gone from half to 3/4 this morning. By mid afternoon I hope to be human again.

To put it simply, they prefer to pay for a more expensive and inefficient system because they wish not to spread the total burden over the total population. Universal Care would cover more people costing less money, albeit burdening a limited portion with the extra costs, but they'll have none of it.
And why? Sheer selfishness as Drake just pointed out."An archaeologist is the best husband a women can have; the older she gets, the more interested he is in her." - Agatha Christie
