But it's true though. Whilst Asher rubs a lot of people up the wrong way (mostly people who deserve it), he is at least usually accurate about what he posts. NYE OTOH all too often spouts verbal diarrhoea and comes up with some of the most hare-brained ideas on this site.

Thankfully, I think the majority of the OT population realises this, so I think it's more fun to let him carry on than being able to place him on some stupid ignore list.

If he's going to be an epic dumbass, we should be allowed to ignore him. The alternative is for the admin to keep letting me read his posts and watch me explode with rage every time he posts, a la Ben.

If you want to ignore someone just don't read their stuff. The forum conveniently shows the name of the poster right there on the left. there are lots of folks I just scan or quickly skip over


Oh and asher-- you engage in a lot of rhetoric yourself often stating things as absolutes on issues where the realities are more nuanced. And you do seem to like playing gotcha with quotes to find inconsistencies-- I'm not immune to doing this sometime but its usually better to ask for clarification if you really want to debate the issue

I did find it was unclear to me in the thread in question when nye was dealing with oilsands versus conventional-- BUt instead of gotcha why not just inquire?

I actually somweaht enjoy discussing things with BOTH of you. Its interesting to me to hear different viewpoints and even this pi**ing match is some welcome forum activity

Notwithstanding my view that ignore lists are unnecessary generally, this forum does offer the feature and if someone is not actually acting as a mod/admin then this immunity should be rescinded.
