I never said the NHL wasn't better about encouraging a healthy level of fighting. They clearly are. The fact that NFL execs have a stick up their ass and won't allow fighting doesn't mean that NFL players can't fight, however.

Even pussies in the NHL have a couple of fights in their professional career and probably a few more in the junior leagues, college or high school. Enforcers can get into 10 or 20 fistfights against other professional athletes EVERY YEAR.

I admit that I have never been a pugilist, but if there's only one worthwhile spot to hit wouldn't it be a kind of boring fight? Sort of like Irish boxing, or rock-em sock-em robots. If you want to watch fights, watch boxing, or that white-trash MMA stuff.

MMA is an art. It has rules. It's just most of the refs that you see aren't particularly good, but it's fairly new as a sport and as it matures we'll see more consistency and skill from the refs too.

The reactionary idea that fighting somehow becomes less of an art because it involves kicks or you keep fighting on the ground is just nonsense.
