I'm not the one *****ing about this. If you want to keep bringing up the rule, fine. That let me see that I read the rule incorrectly. I have no objection to that rule as I now understand it. It also allowed me to see that the quoted rule does not apply to my selection. As you say, that reserve selection occurs prior to the start of the pool if you choose someone that is already dead.

Go check the other rules to see which one applies to a selection that dies after selection but prior to start of the contest, if you enjoy rules lawyering so much.

And I'm not the one lawyering here; the rule's intent is perfectly clear. "She wasn't dead when I picked her" (and never acknowledging your responsibility to notice) is a pretty lame excuse. Especially since she died 8 months ago. Totally weak sauce.

I brought it up because I didn't know about the rule. The rule was pointed out to me and I was done with it at that point. Others then kept bolding the rule and whining about ****. Then I came back in to point out the wording of the rule since I happened to notice it at that point.

7. If one of your picks dies after selections are submitted but before the beginning of game play at the start of the year, the top name on your Reserve List will move up to the bottom of your Game List. If a celebrity does jump the gun and die before the official start of the game it is the responsibility of the player to report the early death to the Panel Judge.

I have accepted my responsibility and duly reported it. I don't see a deadline for fulfillment of said responsibility. It could be interpreted that the deadline is the start of gameplay, I leave that judgement to the Panel Judge.
