More like cheapskates. I don't think they'd want to pay the nearly Billion $ price tag of the trial simply for the privilege of having KSM and co in NYC.

We'd do it a lot cheaper, and televise/advertise the hell out of it to make up for costs

Well, of course. There's nothing important in Chicago to protect.

          • If they can protect the White House and keep it secure without costing this much why can't they do the same with a court house? There simply has to be a way.

We don't have a bunch of buildings crammed together for maximum destruction. Also we're not so scared of a person under maximum security wraps that we install security cameras in our underwear to check for terrorists.

Seriously though. Does anyone really expect that the Obama admin wouldn't face a similar rebellion to the one they faced in NY from whatever city they decide to dump the trial in now?

                • New Yorkers don't want to convict the dude who kicked their city's ass because of "costs" and "logistical" difficulties? Weak.

I thought you were all about the grass roots which is where much of this movement to keep them out of NYC came from.

                        • I'd imagine New Yorkers, like the rest of the country, don't want KSM and other terrorists granted civilian trials in the first place.

Yes, putting high-profile terrorists on trial where their fate is either execution (if found guilty) or indefinite detention (if found innocent) surely makes the U.S. judicial system seem fair and credible...
