Sounds less than the end of the world and more like just a regular war where America looses.
Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

There is a second Postman book?

Are we unclear as to the meaning of the term "post-apocalyptic"?
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Obviously Oerdin considers Cubans taking over the Midwest to be the end of the world.

The paperback I read had 2 sections and IIRC it said they were separate books at one time.

Ah. Yeah, it was one paperback when I got to it. We are talking about the David Brin book right?

The smurfs are dead. Wendy Testaburger killed them all for their smufberries.

I forgot Children of Men, which is excellent. It isn't like post-nuclear war post-apocalyptic, but I think it fits in the genre. Also, new movie coming out, The Road (which looks pretty cool).

Children of men could have been good from a world building standpoint, but sucked because the main plot made no sense.
