The article in the previous thread on the subject that everybody's berating MrFun for abandoning rather than bumping had a quote from the guy talking about how he lets his black friends use his bathroom and that he's therefore not a racist.

Well, personally I think it belies a deep seated fear of other races - which is essentially racism in my book.

It might not necessarily be their fault as such, so more a knee-jerk reaction. I imagine they were brought up that way and it can't be easy turning your back on generations and generations of racism and hatred.

I rather liken it to the de-Nazification carried out in post-war Germany. These things definitely take time, but there's definitely been progress in leaps and bounds.

I did move on until you made a stupid comment about me sweeping racism under the table in my supposed fear to discuss it. You pretty much derailed this thread yourself.
