Finstuen v. Crutcher had a federal appeals court state that one state's laws against recognizing same-sex adoptions from other states was unconstitutional. Isn't that a relevant precedent here?

Actually, you haven't. However, I've since read Pacific Employers Ins. Co. v. Industrial Accident Comm'n, 306 U.S. 493 (1939), and you are correct on the legal point.Originally posted by Imran Siddiqui View Post... there is a public policy exception to the FFC (which Zkrib should have know and I believe I've pointed out to him in the past).
You'd think, wouldn't you? But on page 27 of that opinion, the Court notes: "In applying the Full Faith and Credit Clause, the Supreme Court has drawn a distinction between statutes and judgments." The adoption there was the result of a court judgment, and therefore had to be honored in Oklahoma despite the public policy to the contrary.Originally posted by AsherFinstuen v. I thought a married people adopted kids or a single person.Originally posted by Asher View PostSame-sex couple adopting a child.
I guess there are cases when non-married people adopt kids.
When non-married people adopt kids, and they are the same sex, that is banned?
I would think that would be a policy thing, and not the law.

I mean, that would mean that someone who had a kid, and then got in a homosexual relationship would have their kid taken away.
I didn't think anywhere had that?

Actually, you haven't
Then you haven't brought up the point before
