Finstuen v. Crutcher had a federal appeals court state that one state's laws against recognizing same-sex adoptions from other states was unconstitutional. Isn't that a relevant precedent here?

Actually, you haven't. However, I've since read Pacific Employers Ins. Co. v. Industrial Accident Comm'n, 306 U.S. 493 (1939), and you are correct on the legal point.

You'd think, wouldn't you? But on page 27 of that opinion, the Court notes: "In applying the Full Faith and Credit Clause, the Supreme Court has drawn a distinction between statutes and judgments." The adoption there was the result of a court judgment, and therefore had to be honored in Oklahoma despite the public policy to the contrary.

I thought a married people adopted kids or a single person.

I guess there are cases when non-married people adopt kids.

When non-married people adopt kids, and they are the same sex, that is banned?

I would think that would be a policy thing, and not the law.

I mean, that would mean that someone who had a kid, and then got in a homosexual relationship would have their kid taken away.

I didn't think anywhere had that?

Then you haven't brought up the point before
