Another classic and sampled hip hop combo.

The original by Norman Connors with Ada Dyer on the vocals:

And the rap song with Mos Def produced by Kanye West from the soundtrack for the movie Brown Sugar:

if anyone listens to the Roger Waters link, does it pause? Maybe its just my connection

I love the last 3 minutes of that live version of Comfortably Numb its soooo cool

although it does look like Doyle Bramhall is taking a crap on some of those notes before Mr Smooth Snowy White chimes in. Thank God for the technology to record music
Comfortably Numb can't be played here because of copyright issues...

The song is split in two on youtube because it's too long.

Some more recent Teena Marie when she was signed to rap label Cash Money Records (yes, with Lil Wayne and Birdman and them )

Here's the song she did with the late Gerald Levert:

    RIP Teena Marie
    RIP Gerald Levert

Believe it or not, this 2004 album was the highest-charting album of her career.

The obituaries and stuff mention her hits back in the day and with Rick James but she was still making albums (she had other albums in 2006 and 2009) and having a lot of mainstream modern R&B success right up until her death.
