              • those with long memories may recall that i posted a couple of tracks by this guy in the last thread, from his low culture album, including a fascinating number which combined, a kora, a melodeon and a violin with some wonky dubstep. i've recently been exploring his earlier stuff, some great english folks music with an electronic twist. check it out

                  • Nipple Erectors? What a ****ty name.

Though the first song isn't half bad. How is that punk rock? Sounds like some 1950's rock n roll. The second one sounds like in between that and obnoxious screaming punk rock.

                    • dude, most early punk harks back to early days of rock 'n' roll. 3 chords, played fast and furious and a bit of singing/shouting over the top.

and the nipple erectors is a great name

                        • no it's chuck berry speeded up and with more shouting. if you don't believe me, you need to listen to more punk music, and probably more 50s rock 'n' roll as well.

although having said that, punk can describe a fairly wide variety of music, it's hard to define and if you ask 20 people to define punk, you'll get 20 different answers.

with more shouting? It's called screaming. And yes, Chuck Berry speeded up with screaming (and throw in some intrusive distorted guitars and some stupid anti-social, anti-establishment, rebel with no cause dumb ****) is pretty ****ing bad.
