So this stupid woman calls police. I don't care if she said black or not. What I want to know is, you have a supposedly famous Harvard professor as a neighbor. How do you not recognize him? I mean, even the people that live down the block, I would recognize... especially if they were trying to break into their own house. Hell, if I saw them trying to barge open a door in broad daylight, I'd walk outside and loiter around. Lord knows burglars love an audience.
The only thing I can conclude from this whole debacle is that this woman, who basically started this whole ****storm, is an idiot. How do you not recognize your neighbor? Why do you go call the police right away?To us, it is the BEAST.Comment

I like how the blame is shifting. First, it was the police officer's fault, because he was obviously racist. When that claim was blown out of the water, now it's the neighbor's fault, for reporting a suspected burglary in progress. As for knowing who her neighbors are, I can tell you for a fact that I would recognize very few of my neighbors on sight. I'm not antisocial, I just keep weird hours, and for damn sure if I saw someone shoving in the door of my neighbor's place, I'd probably call the cops too. Especially if they were black 
But seriously, why can't Gates just take responsibility for acting like a ****head, apologize, and move on? I don't get it.
