I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara
For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Not if the humor comes spelled with a "u."

      • Henry Louis Gates is a personal hero of mine and has done amazing work researching the african diaspora in this country. Henry Louis Gates is a well respected academic who should be afforded respect within the confines of his well-earned home. No one has to let police into their homes unwarranted. Whether they be well appointed manses or shacks in the mountains....that is a civil freedom we all share....but i ask, why are some of you guys so racist? What in your background has led you to make statements about being sick of black men "crying oppression"....Do you even personally know more than two black people intimately? This country is overwhelmingly white, yet there are so many white people who think they have it bad in this country as a White Person. Yeah maybe you personally aren't part of the ruling class....but I would like to emphasize that is a social class issue. Um, please tell me again how many black people currently occupy ruling class status. Oh right, one can count them on one hand. Our current president only got the job because the last guy was such a **** up. You are right if you think this system doesn't work for hardworking, wage slave you....but you are very, very wrong to blame that misfire on blacks....remember on average blacks get paid less than whites hands down.....and waaay less blacks have any real hiring power.

          Errr, I wouldn't say intimately

This is poor logic. South Africa was overwhelmingly black.

I'm pretty sure that's not true.

Let's see, the President, the five ceo's of fortune 500 companies....you're right that took an extra digit....entertainers with money DO NOT count...so that excludes miss O.

Blacks in S.Africa were majority in number, but held no power....Whites in America are majority in number, culture, the halls of power....

                    • That is better logic, though still incomplete.

You have an interesting, if massively flawed, definition of the "ruling class". Just as one example, it excludes the United States Congress.

                        • you see thats why you never answer whit an argument, cus some detective dip**** whit too many bathrooms will distort it and make you pull out 1 billon facts that he will later reject on a technicality.

dont be ****ing stupied kuci answer the ****ing "question" for once.

Look, I'm not trying to split hairs here, I'm honestly responding to this thread because seeing those poll results on chegitz's screen really sickened me. I've read this forum over his shoulder for years and have really had some good laughs from posters and felt genuine warmth when meeting polytoners in RL. So, to think that some of you guys can be so blatantly racist when talking about someone who is a stranger to you and to feel the visceral anger with which some have posted disappointed me enough to make me log in and try to have a real dialogue....but i guess that's too much to ask of a bunch of wankers i suppose

                            • I find it interesting that you characterize the poll results as racist rather than any specific argument anyone has made.

[disclaimer: I haven't voted in the poll, nor do I care about this issue even the tiniest bit beyond "please, god, let this news cycle end so we can talk about something at least a little bit consequential"]

                              • i didnt quote anyone specifically because some of what upset me, did so in such a deep way that i wanted a little distance from it. This may be some logic arguement for you I guess, but hearing people openly dismissing the struggles with racist oppression, is personal to me. I dont know if my "logic is flawed" or not and frankly, i dont give a damn.
